DESCRIPTION

The Los Angeles Conservancy is now offering members of Los Angeles Circles the opportunity to enjoy their regularly scheduled architectural walking tours at a two-for-one admission rate.

Walking tours include:

Angelino Heights (1st Saturday) Go back in time to one of Los Angeles’ first suburbs, rich with history and Victorian houses. Tour includes entrance to a private home (subject to availability).

Art Deco (Every Saturday) Discover downtown’s rich Art Deco architectural heritage, with buildings full of color and geometric design.

Biltmore Hotel (Every Sunday) Hear the stories and revel in the elegance of this magnificent historic hotel, built in 1923 and restored to near-original condition.

Broadway: Historic Theatre and Commercial District (Every Saturday) Get to know the colorful past and exciting future of Broadway, home to grand movie palaces, flagship department stores, loft housing, and a thriving retail district. (Note: access to interiors is limited and subject to availability).

Downtown Renaissance: Spring & Main (2nd & 4th Saturdays) Explore the extravagant marble halls of the former financial heart of the city, vibrant once again with loft housing, restaurants, and galleries.

Downtown's Modern Skyline (1st & 3rd Saturdays) Experience the skyscrapers, plazas, and public art that define L.A.’s bustling Central Business District, and discover how they relate to both the past and the future of the city.

Historic Core (Every Saturday) Get a great overview of the history and architecture of the City of the Angels, from its founding in 1781 to the present, focusing on the landmarks of Historic Downtown.

Union Station (3rd Saturday) Take a grand tour of this 1939 train station and its modern counterparts, the Metro station and MTA building, and experience its unique blend of Art Deco and Spanish Revival styles.

Youth and Family Tours (by arrangement) The city and its history come alive for kids and adults alike through special abridged versions of the Historic Core and Union Station tours, created for youth and multigenerational groups.

The Los Angeles Conservancy is a membership-based nonprofit that works through advocacy and education to preserve the historic places that make Los Angeles unique.
